Sergi Arola


Instead of embarking on the artistic side of cooking, Chef Sergi Arola is an artist himself, but a music artist. Other than cooking with his grandfather at the young age of 12, Chef Arola was also a budding musician and he even joined a band with dreams of attaining stardom. Although that dream of his still lives within him, he is now a successful chef. Starting at Roses (Catalonian province of Girona where it was also home his mentor, Ferrán Adrià’s first restaurant). Chef Arola was given the opportunity to work at the kitchen of El Taller to learn and experiment. Chef Arola left Barcelona for Madrid some years later and opened his own restaurant, La Broche, which garnered two Michelin stars as well as the National Gastronomy Prize, gaining worldwide attention. Besides his success in La Broche featuring high-concept cuisine, Chef Arola is also the chef at W Paris-Opéra’s signature restaurant, Arola, creating tapas and classic Mediterranean cooking. With a cookbook titled “Cooking is fun” to his name, Chef Arola is motivated to accomplish more with no signs of stopping.
