World-famous masterchef Dani García was born in Marbella in 1975 and began his studies at the Málaga School Of Hostelry. An apprentice of the famed Martín Berasategui, he quickly became one of the leading stars on the Spanish culinary scene. Since then he has won numerous awards and recognitions – starting with his first Michelin-star for the Tragabuches restaurant in Ronda, Málaga. In 2007, Chef García was awarded another Michelin-star as the head chef of Calima at Gran Meliá Don Pepe. Currently the ambassador of Marbella, he is the icon for new Andalusian cuisine.
