After 14 years of pioneering and heading the culinary team at the then-Club Chinois, Chef Ken Ling now oversees the kitchens of the swanky TungLok Heen located at Resorts World Sentosa and Tóng Lè Private Dining at the historical landmark of Collyer Quay, revolving OUE Tower. Spanning an impressive culinary career of more than 30 years, Chef Ken is known for his passion and creativity in both Modern Chinese as well as Authentic Chinese cuisine. His efforts and perseverance had helped Club Chinois garner several accolades and awards, which included the World Gourmet Summit Asian Ethnic Restaurant of the Year Award in 2002, the Best Dish award and the Most Popular Restaurant award respectively at the Singapore Gourmet Hunt Awards in 2005 and 2006 and ‘Most Innovative F&B Concept’ in the Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards Singapore Series 2006/07.
Chef Ken was also instrumental in contributing towards Club Chinois’ recognition in 2008 as the first restaurant in Singapore to be honoured with the coveted “International Five-Star Diamond Award” by the New York-based American Academy of Hospitality Sciences, “Vismark Asian Restaurant of the Year” at the WGS Awards of Excellence 2010 and Overall Winner of Best Dining Experience Award at the Singapore Experience Awards 2010.
On 18 November 2011, Chef Ken secured the Gold Award in the Asian Cuisine category at the Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards 2011 – 2012 (Regional Series) Masterchef. In August 2012 at the Restaurant Association of Singapore’s Epicurean Star Award, for the second consecutive year, Chef Ken led his team to their second victory of the Star Chef Overall Winner. Chef Ken Ling has had the honour of cooking for some of the greatest world leaders and celebrities of his time. These include Singapore’s former President, Mr S R Nathan, Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, U.S. President George W. Bush, former Indonesian President Megawati Sukarnoputri, Hong Kong’s Mr Li Ka-shing and Sir Gordon Y.S. Wu, as well as celebrities Jackie Chan, Stephen Chow and Gong Li.
